Board Meeting Minutes

Present: Robert Idso, Jim Tracy, Eric Steinmetz, Mark Halverson, Mike Myhra, Medea Myhra
Absent: Ross Gersten

1. President Idso called the meeting to order at 7:20 PM.
2. Members reviewed the board meeting minutes from 10/17/07.
3. President’s Report: Bob sold a T-shirt and received a donation for a total of $20.
4. Treasurer’s Report: $6,150 in checking; $750 paid for tax work; $126 in savings.
5. Old Business:
a. Road cleanup: It was completed by Mike Myhra and his son Nik.
b. Judy Cooper Memorial: Stone is all done and cut. It is sitting by Miller’s garage ready to move on the prairie. Bob and Eric picked the location. Margo from The Food Co-op also liked the location. We are still not sure how to move it since it weighs a ton. Eric will discuss at the Prairie Advisory Meeting next month.
c. Tax / gambling issues: Eric reported the happenings over the past three months. First, we need to get clear with the Gambling Control Board. We may need to account for $6500 to be dispersed to other nonprofit groups. $4025 that was okayed previously by the IRS for use on bills is now not okay by the Gambling Control Board to have been used – they want $4025 for dispersing to other nonprofit groups also. Eric is questioning the grounds for this and Mike agreed. Bob asked for the motion, Mark moved, Jim seconded. Vote was unanimous that SKP will appeal this.
6. New Business: No new business.
7. Mark moved to adjourn. Jim seconded. Motion carried. The next meeting will be held Wednesday, April 9th, 2008 at 7:00 PM at St. Peter Community Center.
